Three Months Owed Salary, Local Government Council Workers In Rivers State Cry Out


The Workers and Staff of several Local Government Council in Rivers State have cried out over none payment of their monthly salaries ranging about 3 months with no strong indications of getting their salaries soon.

Unconfirmed report around the social media has it that most council chairmen in the state had gone to collect loan from bank, making it difficult to meet up, with the monthly allocation not getting to them.

The LGA chairmen whose tenure will elapse in few months time seems to be making frantic effort towards achieving their cake before tenure finally elapses.

The council workers who spoke with True Blue Reporters confirmed of none payment of their salaries for months and pleaded with members of the public to come to their aid, saying its been tough without salary.

Efforts to get the Council chairmen react on this proved abortive as some of them declined to talk about it.

A visit to the council secretariat shows very low turn out of workers to work as the few present told our reporters that they managed to come in the midst of no salary even though it’s not regular rather than stay idle at home.
