Security Boosts As NDDC Hands Over Vehicles To Agencies

by True Blue Reporters

In order to strengthen the security architecture of the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has given 33 security cars to organizations that collaborated with the Commission during the field forensic assessment.

During the handover on Thursday in Port Harcourt, Dr. Efiong Akwa, the interim administrator of the NDDC, stated that “these agencies worked with the Commission in the just ended forensic audit to assure the peaceful beginning to end of the field forensic audit.”

Dr. Akwa said that the President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the acquisition of security vehicles for use by the Joint Security Committee’s security agencies during the forensic audit operation.

It was crucial to give the vehicles to the organizations so they could use them to help secure the area and protect people’s lives and property.

The NDDC head stated that the Commission’s work was dependent on a secure environment as well as the participation of all parties, including the security services, and he promised to preserve a collaborative relationship between the Commission and all parties involved, including the security services.

Rear Admiral Oluwagbamila Bamidele of the Nigerian Navy thanked the President and the Commission for keeping their promise while speaking on behalf of the security agencies.

He said the vehicles will contribute to improving the security of lives and properties in the region
