Beatrice Itubo who scored 201 votes to defeat her closet rival Arc INEYE BRIADE who got 71 votes described her victory as a call to liberate Rivers State from bad government.
According to her, workers welfare will be given topmost attention because she understands the major problem bedeviling Rivers State and her workers if she finally emerges
She pleaded with the good people of Rivers State to support her as she’s practically ready to develop Rivers State beyond lips service.
She expressed confidence in the new electoral law and urged voters to do well by protecting their votes after casting it on election day.
She thanked the people who voted for her to emerge and promised not to let the people down. She further prayed God to also bless them and grant them victory.
True Blue Reporters recalls that Beatrice Itubo is the current NLC chairperson in Rivers State and has been in log ahead with governor Nyesom Wike over non promotion of workers for many years, non payment of gratuity, non payment of minimum wage, workers welfare, pensioners welfare and payment of outstanding arrears.
She had on a live video criticized governor Nyesom Wike for vying for the office of the president of Nigeria despite not taking the plight of Rivers workers seriously. She insisted that Wike won’t win unless he considers taking workers welfare seriously to avoid repetition at the national level.
Itubo will be facing other governorship candidates of APC, PDP, APGA, AAC, SRM, ACCORD Party and so on in the 2023 general election in Rivers State. It is still not clear if the workers in Rivers State will prefer her as the next governor of the state or not.
