Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a member of the Legacy Projects Media Team and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), says Gov. Wike continues to embarrass himself in front of Nigerians with his inappropriate use of words and English phrases whenever he is favored with the presence of media men. Eze made the claim in response to a comment attributed to the Governor, in which he offered to establish a unity government if he won the presidency. Chief Eze said in a statement released to the media in Port Harcourt that such a proposal is inappropriate and completely out of context, given that the Nigerian state is not experiencing any war or political emergency that would justify the formation of a government of national unity, as Wike suggested. The use of such context on Nigeria, according to the party chief, portrays the Rivers Governor as unfit to manage a state as progressive as Rivers, let alone Nigeria. “Governor Wike has a perplexing personality. He may not comprehend what it takes to build a national unity government, which can only happen in an emergency. He’s probably praying or imagining a circumstance where there might be an emergency. Who is he to believe he would be capable of handling such a circumstance if it occurred?
