The Federal Commissioner representing Rivers State and supervising Bayelsa State in the Public Complaints Commission Hon. Marshall Israel on Friday attended the 2021 Plenary of the Public Complaints Commission held on 9th and 10th of February in Abuja.
Plenaries are monthly or quarterly meeting of Federal Commissioners Of The Public Complaints Commission aimed at reviewing and assessing the performance of the PCC at various States of the Federation.
True Blue Reporters gathered that It was also an avenue for Federal Commissioners to present the achievements, challenges and prospects of the PCC in their States to the Chief Commissioner and plan for a way forward for the Commission.
They also gave statistics of the number of Complaints and cases they have received, resolved and the ones pending including the ones referred to relevant and concerned agencies.
The Public Complaints Commission is the Nigerian aspect of the global Ombudsman Institution with the mandate to Investigate administrative injustice and maladministration amongst other functions in Nigeria.
The Capacity Federal Commissioner in charge of Rivers and Bayelsa States Hon. Marshall Israel adumbrated the achievements and challenges of the PCC in Rivers and Bayelsa States under his leadership which are contained in the report he presented to the Chief Commissioner.
He equally used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to embrace the services of the Public Complaints Commission which are practically free of charge.
The Honourable Federal Commissioners approved a Motion moved by the Honourable Federal Commissioner representing Ekiti State for the establishment of a body to be known as Nigerian Ombudsman Practitioners Association.
