EMOLGA: Court May Declare Chidi Lloyd Unfit Over Unpaid Salaries, As Council Staff Issues 30 Days Notice

Staff of Emohua Local Government Council issues a 30 Days Warning Notice to the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd over what they referred to as unlawful Reduction / non payment of Salaries and Downgrading of Emohua Local Government staff.

In a letter written to Chidi Lloyd through their lawyer, K. I. C. Chukwueze Esq. and titled; PRE-ACTION NOTICE

COMPLAINT OF A UNLAWFUL REDUCTION/ NON PAYMENT OF SALARIES AND DOWNGRADING OF EMOHUA LOCAL GOVERNMENT STAFF PER THEIR EMPLOYMENT GRADE LEVEL, OUR CLIENT REFERS.

According to the notice, “we are solicitors to Mr Owolo Santos Owolo, Orlu-Akwu Evelyn, Omoni Charles, Chioma Victor Solomon, Idu Cynthia Ifeoma, Ordu O. Endurance, Obua Harmony, Solomon Erim and well over 300 staff of Emohua Local Government Council (who shall hereinafter be referred to us our client) on whose behalf and instruction we write.”

The notice further stated, “Our client are full employees of Emohua Local Government Area Council of Rivers State. Our client informed us that they have worked in the council over the years proceeding your election as the chairman of the council.”

“That some of our client stopped receiving their salaries from the month of July 2021, while some continue to receive slashed salary even till December 2021.”

Some of the staff who spoke with True Blue Reporters on the development complained that the situation has imposed high level difficulties and hardship on them and their families.

They vowed to seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction if after 30 Days of this notice their complain is not addressed.

“..shall further urge the court to declare you (Chidi Lloyd) unfit to hold public office by reason of this administrative recklessness and gross violation of various laws you swore an oath to keep and maintain”

They advised the chairman to avoid the needless litigation that may further affect the reputation of Emohua Council
