Counsellor Okpoo on Wednesday visited members and leaders of Eleme State Constituency to make his intention known, as he declares interest to represent the constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly come 2023.
Okpoo who hails from Onne ward 7, Elelme Rivers State is seeking for support under the platform of the All Progressive Congress. According to him.
“Every tree has its root and that is why it was deemed fit that I consult my ward and it’s executive leadership to seek their counsel and get them acquainted about my ambitions and plans in the coming election.”
Speaking with True Blue Reporters, Okpoo stated, “I and my team were accepted and given a warm welcome as I presented my ambition after which I was bestowed with important advices and prayers towards the success of my ambition by the leaders of the ward.”
He expressed gratitude to his friends and colleagues who were on the train with him in the visit
“I would like to sincerely thank every one involved in today’s consultation.”
“This is a process I would be into more often, as I continue to take the step by step walk towards 2023.” He stated
As the tenure of elected Government officials especially in Rivers State, Governor and members of the state and national assembly comes to an end, ahead of 2023, True Blue Reporters reports that politicians in Rivers State has began consultation and other level of political preparation towards occupying various seats at different levels of offices.
While INEC is yet to approve political campaigns towards 2023, politicians aren’t giving up in their strategy of flying their party’s flag and winning elections. While political party like the Peoples Democratic Party has already concluded its national convention waiting to hold their primaries, the All Progressive Congress has fixed 26th of March for its National Convention which may be followed later by primaries, a process of selections for different political offices
