On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin found Mohammed Bello, a 23-year-old student at the Federal University of Technology, FUT, Minna, Niger State, guilty of offenses that may have constituted cheating by personation.
Bello, who identified herself as a native of Kwara State’s Ilorin West Local Government Area, is accused of impersonating a white woman in order to swindle trusting victims.

The EFCC’s Ilorin Zonal Command brought charges against the defendant on two counts.
In response to reliable intelligence, the EFCC detained Bello and other alleged fraudsters on April 22, 2022, in the Agric Estate neighborhood of Ilorin, Kwara State.
At his arraignment, the defendant not only admitted to perpetrating the crime but also entered a plea of guilty.
