Abuja-Kaduna Train: Nyema Worukwo Describes Attack As Barbaric And Devilish

by True Blue Reporters

Nigerians from different quarters have condemned the recent attack on the Abuja-Kaduna Train, frowning at such devilish incident that claimed many innocent lives who were traveling to their choice destinations before the attack.

Nyema Worukwo, a House of Representatives hopeful for Ikwerre/Emohua Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in River State on Friday described such attack as barbaric and devilish in its entirety.

Speaking with True Blue Reporters in Port Harcourt, Nyema questioned the rationale behind such an attack on human lives, condemning whatever reason may be behind such attack to the extent of taking lives. For him, a live taken can not be returned and there’s no need for anyone to be lured into such ugly act.

According to him, “it is barbaric and devilish for any one to think of taking lives, not to talk of carrying out such evil. I condemn it in totality. Such act should not even occur nor repeat itself in our dear country Nigeria.”

Nyema Worukwo insisted on the need for both young and old to join hands in building the Nigeria of our dream and not destroy it.

“There’s need for everyone to join hands in building the Nigeria of our dream rather than destroy it. We should support in the development of our society and not destroy. We’ve been yawning for development in infrastructure and other sector of the economy in Nigeria, why will anyone or group think of destroying the existing ones the government has made frantic effort to put together for the betterment of Nigeria? It is wrong”

Nyema further supported the idea by the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi on the need to provide maximum security along the railway and added voice for funds to be released to the appropriate ministry and agency for the purpose of providing the needed security. He insisted that security of lives and properties should be paramount and not politicized.

Recall that an attack earlier by Bandits along the Abuja-Kaduna railway had claimed several lives and damaged the rail system. A situation which the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi cried out on lack of approval for the provision of security gadgets for the rail system. The Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo had also visited the place where the incident occured in Kaduna in company of the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Refai, condemning the act.
